The UK housebuilder secured 22 acres of land at Pleasley Hill Farm from a private vendor for an undisclosed sum. Subject to planning approval, they plan to build a mix of energy-efficient two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes.

With an investment of around £55 mln (€64 mln) over a six-to-seven-year period, Avant Homes Central aims to support local businesses and communities through this development. The site will form part of a larger mixed-use development with up to 850 dwellings, including retail and commercial space.

The project will offer a variety of housing options at different price points. It will also allocate 40 houses for affordable housing and cater to customers seeking private rentals. Additionally, the development will contribute around £2.1 mln (€2.4 mln) towards local services, education, and healthcare.

Matt Barker, director in charge at Avant Homes Central, said: "As a housebuilder, we want to build quality new homes for everyone. This site is ideal for us to deliver our range of practically designed, energy-efficient homes in a place people want to live. We look forward to working with Mansfield District Council and submitting our plans to deliver a new and thriving community within the town."
