La Hulpe-based Atenor said it has been awarded the development and acquisition of a 19,711 m2 plot of land located on the site of Les Anciennes Sucreries, along the canal and near the railway station.

Atenor plans to develop a new city district on the site, including a 20,400 m2 complex with apartments, lofts, a home for the elderly, a daycare centre and a community centre. The planned investment amount was not disclosed.

The launch of the initial phase is expected in the short term, the company said in a statement.
