Belgian developer Atenor has purchased an office complex in Warsaw's Mokotow district in its first foray into the Polish real estate market.
The company, which is already active in Hungary and Romania, has bought a 32,000 m2 office complex consisting of two schemes located at Szturmowa 2/2a in the Polish capital. Tenants include the Polish arm of Hewlett-Packard and automation solutions provider Emerson.
Financial details were not disclosed.
BNP Paribas Real Estate advised on the deal and will act as property manager going forward.
'Our presence in Poland, following our earlier successes resulting from our entry onto the Romanian and Hungarian markets, is a natural step in the implementation of our growth,' commented Atenor's country director Sven Lemmes. 'The two Warsaw properties will be a good start for our Polish operation. It is indeed the company's objective to establish a long-term presence in the Polish office and residential markets.'
'A powerful player has entered the Polish market,' added Mateusz Skubiszewski, director of capital markets for Central and Eastern Europe at BNP Paribas Real Estate Polska. 'The transaction fits in perfectly with the company’s investment strategy consisting in proactive search for schemes in excellent locations in cities displaying the greatest potential for growth and presenting opportunities for hands-on management and re-development.'
