Grade A business centre Astarta will be the first ever BREEAM certified office property in Ukraine, developed by TEK Energoinvest.
Yulia Schastlivaya, Deputy Director of lease department at TEK Energoinvest, said: 'Astarta business centre is the first class A office building in Ukraine certified under world-wide international environmental standard BREEAM International 2013.'
She added: 'I am sure that due to the modern and innovative engineering solutions implemented in the project, the excellent location and the possibility of renting a large space on one floor, our business center will be highly appreciated by customers.'
The scheme is is located in Kiev's Podol area, and comprises three phases of offices, meeting rooms, cafés, restaurants, shops and a bank on a total area of 62,700 m2. The opening of the first phase is scheduled for Q1 2017.
Certification is complete for the design of the first phase of the project which comprises a gross floor area of 22,700 sq m, and a net lettable area of 16,200 sq m. JLL is managing the BREEAM assessment process.
Martin Townsend, Director of Sustainability BRE Global, added: 'I’m always excited when I hear about new clients applying BREEAM; this is perhaps even more hard fought where BREEAM as a standard is not widely adopted in a country, where being a champion of best practice, comes with even more challenges, and the need to educate and inspire others to follow.'
