The additions are part of an ongoing plan to grow the business.

It is believed to be gearing up for opening to third party capital. As previously reported, the firm has been investing and managing capital across targeted real estate strategies in Europe on behalf of Apollo’s retirement services’ balance sheets. However, it is exploring other clients to participate alongside this.

Brand joins as a principal focused on acquisitions and strategy, reporting to partners Boris Olujic and Frederick Neske, who oversee the group.

Prior to Apollo, she was a director on the real estate investments team at KKR, and began her career at M&G Investments as an analyst on the real estate finance team.

Rix joins the dedicated ECP team at Lapithus, Apollo’s asset management platform, as a executive director to lead asset and operational strategy to beef up ECP’s aggregation efforts in UK purpose-built student accommodation.

Prior to joining, he was MD at Hines, where he was involved with the launch and day to day operations of its 5,000 bed PBSA platform, Aparto. He was also at Greystar, The Student Housing Company and iQ Student, and is the first of a number of new hires being targeted for the strategy.

Apollo’s European Core Plus business has grown to €2.6 bn as of the end of 2022.
