Amsterdam-based student resi provider The Student Hotel expects to generate further growth outside its home country, partner Frank Uffen told PropertyEU at Expo Real in Munich this week.
The Student Hotel has grown enormously in the past six years and expects to generate €75 mln in turnover this year, he added. ‘We still have two projects that we are pursuing in the Netherlands in Delft and Utrecht but the focus is now on further expansion in western Europe.'
Backed by Dutch pension fund giant APG among others, The Student Hotel has assets in seven locations around the Netherlands. However, future growth will come from France, Germany, Spain, Portugal and Italy, Uffen said. ‘The UK is the next market we would like to enter and we are working on leads in London and Edinburgh.'
The Student Hotel is currently working on 13 projects including one in Toulouse (pictured) and is set to open it first German project in Dresden at the end of this year followed by Berlin in 2019.
