Annexum Invest has bought six Golden Tulip hotels in the Netherlands for an undisclosed sum. The hotels are located in Amersfoort, Epe, Hoenderloo, Loosdrecht and two are in Beekbergen. They are all four-star hotels and have a total of 577 bedrooms and 110 function rooms. Annexum bought the hotels as part of a consortium that included merchant bank Kempen & Co.

Annexum, a real estate investment boutique founded in the Netherlands in 2000, has been following the developments in the hotel sector for some time. 'We think hotels are an interesting investment market,' said Annexum Invest director Huib Boissevain.

'This market is profiting not only from the improving economy, but also from demographic developments and globalisation. The elements contribute to greater demand for hotel rooms. Internationally, major investors began paying more attention in the last year to this growing market,' he said. The consortium was advised in the transaction by Hospitality Support Group.
