The Dutch capital Amsterdam is to host an interdisciplinary summer school about city planning and city making in July.

Around 100 participants from around the world will work for two weeks on a sustainable future for Amsterdam during the summer school - Thinking City: The Dynamics of Making Amsterdam.

The event is being organised by the University of Amsterdam and Delft University of Technology, in collaboration with VMX Architects.

The group of participants will consist of Master’s students, PhD students and professionals with diverse backgrounds - from social and economic sciences to architecture and urban planning. They will work on various issues affecting the Dutch capital under the guidance of leading scientists and designers.

The Summer School will take place from 5 to 20 July 2014.
