San-Francisco based industrial property developer and owner AMB Property Corporation said it has pre-leased more than 130,000 sq ft (12,100 m2) in the 437,000 sq ft AMB Boom Distribution Center to fashion retailer C&A Belgie. C&A will use the facility to expand it distribution capabilities in Belgium.

‘Belgium is one of the largest logistics and distribution hubs in Europe, benefiting from Brussels International Airport and the port of Antwerp,’ Mo Barzegar, AMB’s managing director for Europe, said in a statement. ‘We see strong demand here for highly efficient logistics facilities; however, there’s a lack of modern supply that is capable of catering to customer requirements. AMB is meeting that demand with this multi-tenant development at an outstanding infill location in the important Antwerp-Brussels corridor.’

The agreement with C&A came the day after AMB Property announced it had fully leased the 111,000 sq ft AMB Fokkers Logistics Center 3B near Amsterdam’s Schipol airport to KLM Engineering & Maintenance.

As of December 31, AMB’s Europe portfolio totalled about 12 mln sq ft (1.1 mln m2).
