AMB Property Europe announced on Tuesday that it has expanded its Schiphol portfolio of industrial real estate with the acquisition of about 6,800 m[sup]2[/sup] of distribution space.

AMB Property Europe announced on Tuesday that it has expanded its Schiphol portfolio of industrial real estate with the acquisition of about 6,800 m2 of distribution space.

The facility, named AMB Cessnalaan Distribution Center, was acquired from Alecta Pensionforsakring Omsesedigt, a Swedish pension fund managed by the global property group Goodman. The Cessnalaan property is leased to a multimedia company and TNT Express Nederland.

AMB Property Europe is an affiliate of San Francisco-based and New York-listed AMB Property Corporation.

'We are pleased to meet customer demand with a large and diverse offering of distribution and warehousing space in the Amsterdam Schiphol market,' said Anton van Vlerken, general manager, Benelux for AMB. AMB's portfolio of properties in the Netherlands totals approximately 221,000 m2, of which some 155,000 m2 is located in and around Amsterdam.

AMB's overall Europe portfolio consists of over 1.1 million m2 of logistics and distribution properties, both operating and under development, in ten markets in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK.
