Altmarkt Galerie Dresden has won the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Global Award for Excellence.
Altmarkt Galerie Dresden has won the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Global Award for Excellence.
Altmarkt was developed and is managed by Hamburg-based shopping centre specialist ECE, and owned by a joint venture of ECE, Deutsche EuroShop, and TLG Immobilien.
The award ceremony took place at the Urban Land Institute's 2013 Fall Meeting in Chicago on Friday.
Altmarkt Galerie was one of 30 finalists from all over the world which were selected from 180 applicants.
Alexander Otto, chief executive officer of ECE, said: 'We are very proud to receive such a renowned international award for Altmarkt Galerie. It is an outstanding example for high-quality, urban city development, the careful handling of historic buildings and the enhancement and advancement of an historic city center by integrating commercial space.'
The other 11 winners this year included HafenCity Hamburg, the Amazon.com Global Headquarters in Seattle, US; Territoria 3000 in Santiago de Chile; D-Cube City in Seoul, South Korea and Hysan Place in Hongkong, China.
