German car manufacturing group Mercedes-Benz has selected Altarea Cogedim Entreprise, in partnership with CFC Développement, to build its new French headquarters following a call for tenders launched in the summer of 2010.

Mercedes-Benz is planning to relocate its headquarters to a new campus site in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, bringing together its operations in the country currently spread across three units: the Mercedes-Benz France head office, Mercedes-Benz France Financial Services and the Mercedes-Benz Academy.

The new headquarters, set within a 5-acre (2-hectare) landscaped area, will be targeting a Breeam Excellent rating, Altarea said.

'This project is an exemplary illustration of Altarea Cogedim Entreprise's expertise in innovation, environmental performance and working with users to develop their turnkey project,' said Jean-Frédéric Heinry, Altarea Cogedim Entreprise's CEO.

Altarea Cogedim Entreprise delivered around 170,000 m2 of offices and hotels in 2011, of which some 144,000 m2 were HQE-certified.
