Altarea, the French real estate developer and investor, held a special inauguration ceremony on Tuesday for its new Porte Jeune Shopping Center in the centre of Mulhouse, in the Alsace region of France. The ceremony was attended by Jean-Marie Bockel, mayor of Mulhouse and junior defence minister, Alterea's founder and CEO Alain Taravella and architect Bernard Reichen.

The 19,000-m2 shopping centre brings 52 new brands and restaurants to Mulhouse, which has a catchment area of 460, 000 inhabitants in France, Germany and Switzerland. The design of the centre by Reichen encompasses a building that includes an office and residential tower built by Architect Spoërry in the 1960s.

The net investment for the project is EUR 44.1 mln.
