Delancey's UK private education provider Alpha Plus Holdings has raised £80 mln (€102 mln) through the issue of an eight-year 5% bond to retail investors.

'We are extremely pleased with the market demand for Alpha Plus’s second retail bond, fully supporting our increased offer. We would like to thank our new bondholders for their participation which will provide us with finance to support our on-going business and investment opportunities,' commented Julian Drinkall, CEO of Alpha Plus.

A total of £130 mln of bonds were issued, of which £50 mln were retained. The company generated net proceeds of £78.6 mln from the issue, after £1.4 mln of expenses.

Alpha Plus is a provider of private education which owns and operates 18 independent schools, nurseries and a sixth-form college.
