Span, the corporate pension fund for employees of engineering consultancy Arcadis Nederland, has appointed Almazara as adviser for part of its non-listed real estate investment portfolio.
Span has total assets of close to €800 mln, of which €125 mln is invested in real estate with a predominantly core profile.
'We manage our portfolio of non-listed real estate funds in-house, and will continue to do so, but we regularly come across issues in individual investments, but also on a portfolio level, that require expert advice and support from a specialised and experienced team,' commented Rob Schippers, Span's risk manager.
The mandate follows Almazara's appointment in March this year for the management of the non-listed real estate investments of Stichting Nedlloyd Pensioenfonds (SNP), the pension fund for employees of a number of Dutch Maersk companies.
