Olivier Wigniolle is stepping down as head of Allianz Real Estate's French business to become the new CEO of Paris-listed REIT Icade.

His appointment follows the departure last month of Serge Grzybowski, CEO and chairman of Icade, which is majority owned by state-controlled financial group Caisse des Dépôts. Icade has already appointed Jean-Paul Faugère as chairman.

Grzybowski, whose term was due to expire at the end of April, said he had decided to hand in his resignation to allow the company to move forward.

Wigniolle will also be a member of the Caisse des Dépôts management committee. He will take up his post after the General Shareholders' Meeting on 29 April.

He has more than 25 years' experience in the real estate sector, notably as CEO of Crédit Agricole Immobilier and chief operating officer of Société Foncière Lyonnaise (SFL).
