Allianz Real Estate has announced the appointment of Barbara Koreniouguine as new CEO of Allianz Real Estate France, effective September 1.

Koreniouguine, aged 48, will lead Allianz Real Estate in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. She will also join the executive committee and will report to Olivier Piani, CEO of Allianz Real Estate.

Koreniouguine spent the last six years at BNP-Paribas Real Estate where she was successively Deputy Chief Executive of BNP Paribas Real Estate Residential and Corporate Property, Executive Chairman of BNP Paribas Real Estate Commercial and Residential Development and finally member of the Board and Chief Operating Officer of BNP Paribas Real Estate. Before joining BNP Paribas Real Estate in 2008, she was Managing Director of Icade Tertial.

Allianz Real Estate France manages property assets of around €7.7 bn.

This is the second appointment this year of a female at the top of an Allianz Real Estate country organisation. In April the Munich-based insurer named Annette Kröger as the new chief executive of Allianz Real Estate Germany, following the departure of Stefan Brendgen last summer.

Allianz Real Estate has seen a number of board changes in recent months. In January the company appointed Olivier Téran as chief investment officer following the departure earlier in the month of Charles Pridgeon. Other appointments include the recruitment in April of Julia Marciano to the newly created role of head of loan asset management of European debt. And in September last year, Allianz appointed Marina Jestin as its new head of retail.
