Annette Kröger has been named the new chief executive of Allianz Real Estate Germany, following the departure of Stefan Brendgen last summer.

Kröger joined Allianz in July 2009 as head of investment management and went on to be appointed head of international asset management.

Previously she worked at Goldman Sachs in the UK and Germany for several years, focusing on the Whitehall Real Estate Funds.

Olivier Piani, CEO of Allianz Real Estate, said: ‘Annette Kröger has done an excellent job over the past six years. Her outstanding specialist and personal qualifications will aid her, as CEO, to lead Allianz Real Estate Germany into the future, and continue with our current growth strategy. I am pleased that, with Annette Kröger, Allianz Real Estate Germany GmbH can welcome its first female leader.’

Allianz Real Estate has seen a number of board changes in recent months. In January the company appointed Olivier Téran as chief investment officer following the departure earlier in the month of Charles Pridgeon. This was followed in March by Allianz' French boss Olivier Wigniolle moving to Paris-listed REIT Icade as its new CEO.

Other appointments include the recruitment earlier this month of Julia Marciano to the newly created role of head of loan asset management of European debt. And in September last year, Allianz appointed Marina Jestin as its new head of retail.
