Allianz Real Estate Germany has acquired the Spherion office building in Dusseldorf from Signa Property Funds for around EUR 100 mln. Spherion is a certified green building with a total lettable area of about 28,000 m[sup]2[/sup] and is fully let to accountancy firm Deloitte & Touche.

Frank Toelle, CEO of Signa Property Funds said: 'With this sale we separate from one of the most attractive assets in our city. Once the renovation of the facade is finished, the position of the asset in the office market of Duesseldorf will be even stronger.'

Allianz Real Estate Germany acquired the property on behalf of various Allianz companies. 'This investment fully corresponds to our current investment strategy which is focused on investments in office and retail properties in prime locations', said Stefan Brendgen, CEO of Allianz Real Estate Germany. 'With this deal we have reached an investment volume of over one billion euros already in 2010 worldwide.'

The transaction was initiated by Jones Lang LaSalle. Allianz Real Estate Germany was advised on legal issues by Clifford Chance. Signa was supported by RAE Heckmann Pellengahr, Todtenhoefer Partnergesellschaft.
