Allianz Real Estate has appointed Olivier Téran as chief investment officer following the departure earlier this month of former investment head Charles Pridgeon.

Téran, who is assuming the role with immediate effect, joined Allianz Real Estate in 2008 and was initially responsible for special projects before becoming global head of portfolio management and, more recently, investment controlling.

The 42-year-old Frenchman started his career at Commerz Financial Products and later joined GE where he held various positions including that of managing director Italy and managing director of business development for the company's real estate activities in Europe.
