Italy's airline group Alitalia has started the sale of a number of office properties in Italy and abroad. The company said its administrator Augusto Fantozzi will manage the procedure which involves the sale of five office buildings located in Sesto San Giovanni (near Milan), Barcelona, Vienna, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo.

As part of the process, the company is also divesting its former headquarters in Rome, which is no longer of strategic use after the company relocated to a property in the main airport of Rome, Fiumicino. Other properties on the market are a hangar and an engines garage in the airport area of Fiumicino.

Alitalia is marketing the assets through advertisements in several Italian newspapers. Interested parties have until March 12 to make an offer, the company said, after which the company will start the due diligence process.
