Belgium's Alinso Group has officially launched the development of logistics facility Ploiesti West Park in Romania. Alinso said the 220-hectare park will be the largest, diversified business park in CEE.

Ploiesti West Park will incorporate offices, logistics, research and development, retail activities, as well as services to the oil and gas industry. Alinso said that the logistic areas are fit for European Distribution Centers, as well as for distribution activities to the city centres of Bucharest and Ploiesti. The park will be ideally positioned next to the future highway Bucharest-Budapest (A3) and will benefit from a nearby railway terminal, the company added.

The total construction value of the buildings and the infrastructure works of the park is expected to rise above EUR 750 mln. Alinso estimates that the scheme will stimulate the creation of 16,000 jobs.

Alinso will develop the park in a joint venture with Petrica Usurelu, founder of the Piritex Group.
