Italian real estate company Aktiva is to invest EUR 500 mln in the development of Romilia recreational and retail centre near Bologna, in northern Italy, the financial newspaper Milano Finanza has reported. The centre will cover an area of 3 million m2, of which 1.7 million m[sup]2[/sup] is green area, and will be located in the town of Medicina, 20 km away from Bologna.

The centre will cover an area of 3 million m2, of which 1.7 million m2 is green area, and will be located in the town of Medicina, 20 km away from Bologna.
Romilia will feature retail stores, a multiplex, a stadium, an aquatic park, an hotel, a golf course and automobile show rooms, the newspaper said. Completion for the entire project is due in five years; however, the stadium is scheduled to be complete in three years. A new high-speed rail line will be developed to facilitate access to the centre, and it will link the centre of Bologna to the new Romilia station.
On December 1, the architecture company Progetto CMR, a well-known Italian firm leaded by Massimo Roj, announced it has been awarded the drafting of the project. Aktiva is a property company constituted by the fair management company Promotor International, Les Copains and the construction company Cogei.
