Global asset manager AEW has appointed Christian Busse as a director within the Logistis asset management team in Germany. Busse will be based in Frankfurt and will report to Thomas Leinberger.

AEW's Logistis fund has raised a total of €1.7 bn of equity commitments to date and has an investment programme targeting €1 bn of further acquisitions with Germany a key target market for the fund.

'(Busse) brings with him a sharp expertise in real estate asset management and especially in logistics, coupled with a deep knowledge of German and Dutch markets. Christian will cover both markets where we have strong investment plans for Logistis.'

The Logistis fund portfolio currently comprises over 2.5 million m2 of Grade A logistics assets in prime locations, with an occupancy rate of around 98%.

'Our target is to bring the total volume of the fund to more than €3 bn across Europe and in particular in Germany, a very dynamic market where we already have identified further potential opportunities of investments,' concluded Rémy Vertupier, fund manager of Logistis.
