AEW Europe has appointed Raphael Brault as head of separate accounts and funds in Paris, reporting to chief investment officer Rob Wilkinson.
Brault will be responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of the firm's separate account mandates and funds managed from the Paris office. He will also sit on the firm’s investment and executive committees.
Brault joins from Acofi-Alms where he launched the firm's debt fund platform. Prior to this he spent 12 years with Morgan Stanley in Paris.
'This appointment confirms AEW Europe’s commitment to continue growing its institutional platform including funds and separate accounts, alongside the private equity platform managed by Russell Jewell in London,' the fund manager said in a statement.
Jean Lavieille, deputy chief investment officer, will be retiring from AEW Europe during 2014 but will stay on as a senior adviser to the firm and member of the investment committee. Lavieille will work with Brault to ensure a seamless transition for the management of the Paris-based funds.
