Investment manager AEW Europe has expanded its private equity team in London with the appointments of Nikolas Koulouras and Alexander Strassburger as executive directors.
Investment manager AEW Europe has expanded its private equity team in London with the appointments of Nikolas Koulouras and Alexander Strassburger as executive directors.
Both new hires report to Russell Jewell, head of private equity funds at AEW Europe.
Strassburger joins from The Carlyle Group where he was country head of Germany. He brings 12 years of real estate experience to the role, during which he completed some €3 bn of real estate transactions across Europe, including direct investments, joint ventures and the acquisition of loan portfolios.
Koulouras joins from Salamanca Group, where he was director and co-head of real estate, overseeing investments in residential, commercial and retail developments across CEE, Spain, UK and Brazil. He has completed over €1 bn of real estate transactions globally over the past 18 years, including direct investments, joint ventures, operating platforms and debt.
Commenting on the appointments, Jewell said: ‘AEW Europe has completed over €1 bn of value add and opportunistic transactions over the last five years and anticipates significant growth in this segment.’
AEW Europe has nine offices throughout Europe and over 280 employees who are responsible for €17.3 bn of assets under management.
