European real estate investment manager AEW Europe has appointed Rob Wilkinson as chief investment officer. In this role he will continue to oversee the investment activities of the firm and the management of funds and separate accounts. He was formerly head of Fund Management and Separate Accounts and remains based in AEW Europe's London office, for which he also holds operational responsibility.

Wilkinson has 18 years of real estate investment and fund management expertise and joined AEW Europe in 2009, after five years with the Goodman Group in Paris. At Goodman he led a team responsible for the fund management of the group's sector focused funds representing EUR 4.5 bn of assets invested across the office, logistics, retail and residential sectors in the UK and continental Europe. The position encompassed the development, structuring, and equity raising for new vehicles. He holds a law degree from Cambridge University and is a qualified chartered accountant.
