Adagio City Aparthotel, a joint ventre between French hotel chain Accor and holiday group Pierre & Vacances, has opened an establishment in Berlin, its first in Germany. The hotel, located near the Kurfürstendamm high street, comprises 133 apartments.

The apartments range from studios for two people to two-roomed apartments for up to four people.

Adagio City targets 'extended stay' business and private travellers. ' Adagio City Aparthotel is ideal for medium-term or longer business stays as well as private weekend trips,' said Lisa Klamt-Kesici, general manager of the establishment in Berlin.

The Adagio City portfolio comprises 30 hotels offering more than 4,100 apartments in major cities in Belgium, Germany, France, Austria, Italy and Switzerland. The next apartment hotel in Germany is planned in Munich in 2011. The chain aims to expand its network to 80 hotels by 2014.
