Nordic investment banking firm ABG Sundal Collier has linked up with three property specialists in the region to launch a new real estate investment company focused on the acquisition and management of Swedish and Finnish assets for third-party investors.
The new firm, called ABG Fastena, boasts Andreas Birgersson, Per Nisses and Philip Söderqvist as co-founders with a combined nearly 50 years of property experience. It will be headed by Andreas Birgersson as CEO. Birgersson was previously one of the founders of the financial advisory firm Pangea Property Partners and the head of the Swedish operations.
Per Nisses, the company’s head of Investor Relations, previously co-founded Arctic Capital, where he acted as managing director focusing on capital raising and secondary trading. Investment head Philip Söderqvist was formerly an equity partner and head of Project Finance at Pareto Securities where he was responsible for the firm’s real asset investments in Sweden and Finland.
‘We have been looking to establish this type of business for the Swedish and Finnish markets for quite some time and have now finally found the right team to accomplish this,’ said Jonas Ström, CEO of ABG Sundal Collier. ‘Real estate is an important component of a diversified investment portfolio and I am therefore very pleased that ABG Fastena now has launched. With this establishment, we now have the opportunity to offer a pan-Nordic service to investors who are looking for stable and predictable cash flows.’
ABG Fastena said it expects to announce new hires in the near term. ‘We are now looking forward to evaluate potential acquisitions, but also to build a strong asset management organisation that takes care of the properties in the best possible way,’ the company said in a statement.
