Aberdeen Standard Investments' co-head of direct property in the Nordics and Finnish country head Ville Raitio has joined Finnish residential property owner Kojamoas Chief Investment Officer.

Raitio has served Aberdeen since 2013 and before that, he was partner, investments at ATP Real Estate from 2007 to 2013 and research director at INREV from 2004 to 2007.

Raitio will start in his position on 8 January 2019. He will be responsible for internal ownership steering, real estate development and transactions, and he will report to CEO Jani Nieminen.

Kojamo, a residential real estate specialist, owns a €5 bn portfolio of over 35,000 units in Finland. It recently went public raising over €750 mln in an IPO which gave it a market capitalisation of roughly €2 bn.

The company aims to own 38,000 apartments valued at €6 bn by the end of 2021.
