Polish commercial real estate developer 7R has kicked off construction work on the 7R Park Gdansk III in Barniewice, Poland.
The project will consist of two halls totalling 112,000 m2 of class-A warehouse space, one over 80,000 m2 and the second with 32,000 m2.
7R Park Gdansk III has secured its first tenant, logistics company Complex SAD, that will occupy 12,300 m2 in Q2 2024.
The logistics park is near the Tricity ring road, close to an international airport with a cargo terminal, seaports in Gdynia and Gdansk, and feature excellent links to the Tri-City, facilitating goods distribution throughout Poland.
Lukasz Borkowski, director at Complex SAD, said: ‘The Tricity combines modernity, great development opportunities, and an attractive location, making it a unique place on the map. That is why we decided to open another warehouse here. What is important is that, apart from the strategic location, the 7R Park Gdansk III facility will be equipped with several initiatives to support the ecology at the site. Consistent implementation of solutions to support the local ecology is an important focus for us. We want to support our business partners in reducing carbon emissions.’
Jakub Dudkiewicz, senior associate in the department of industrial and warehouse space at Newmark Polska, added: ‘We are glad that once again we had the opportunity to support Complex SAD in the lease of modern warehouse space in the Tri-City. This is already the client's third and largest warehouse.’
7R Park Gdansk III will incorporate several eco-friendly features that will help tenants reduce energy consumption. The warehouses will feature photovoltaic panels and skylights to harness natural light, as well as energy-efficient LED lighting. Electric vehicle charging stations will also be installed. Additionally, the site will include wildflower meadows, insect houses, and beehives. These measures will enable the building to achieve BREEAM Excellent certification.
To foster a positive and productive work environment, 7R Park Gdansk III will incorporate employee-centric amenities. A designated chill-out zone will feature unique urban furniture designed by talented young artists, chosen through the "7R Warehouse of Art - Young Art for the Planet" initiative.
