Advisory group Christie + Co has announced that there have been close to 40 viewings for the Park Inn Hyde Park in under a month since the property came onto the market. The 188-bedroom hotel, which is being marketed on behalf of the Gresham Hotel Group, has already generated a number of preliminary bids before the first round offer process on 14 April.

The hotel is situated in an area that is set to improve and develop further over the coming years as neighbouring landmark property developments near completion.

Jeremy Jones, director at Christie + Co, said: 'After the sale of the Park Inn London, Russell Square at the end of last year, which highlighted that 200-bedroom, central London hotels could still generate strong interest, we expected a good level of response for this freehold asset. However, we have still been pleasantly surprised by the number of viewings we have already carried out and the level of interest, which is approaching £40 mln (EUR 44.6 mln).

'London continues to be a global safe harbour for investors both from the UK and abroad, with realistically-priced freehold hotel assets, with development upside, continuing to catch their eye.'
