Barcelona Meeting Point, the third international real estate trade fair in Europe after Mipim in Cannes and Expo Real in Munich, opened with a symposium organised by the Urban Land Institure on Tuesday. William Kistler, ULI's European President, noted that Meeting Point had come along way since it began 10 years ago. The three-day event from November 7 to 9 at the Fira de Barcelona has attrafted 650 exhibitors from 21 countries. Some 180,000 members of the public and 20,000 professionals are expected to attend the event. The symposium is for real estate professionals and there is a general exhibition open to the public.

The organisers say Barcelona Meeting Point is growing in popularity every year. It now occupies three halls and a total of 70,000 m2, one hall and 20,000 m2 more than 2005. The largest contingents of exhibitors and visitors are the Spanish and Portuguese, while central Europe and Dubai are also presented. Unlike the other two fairs, there is also several real estate companies from Latin and Central America.
