JP Morgan Asset Management – Kenneth Tsang has joined the global real assets arm as managing director and head of research and strategy for Asia Pacific. Tsang, who will be based in Hong Kong, was previously a managing director at RED Capital Asia. Earlier in his career, he was head of Asia-Pacific research and strategy at LaSalle Investment Management and has also worked for Sanford Bernstein, ING REIM (now CBRE Global Investors) and JLL.
Barings Real Estate Advisers – Göran Bengtsson has been named head of the Nordics. Based in Stockholm, he will be responsible for sourcing and executing deals, as well as overseeing all asset management activities within the region. He will also be responsible for opportunities to expand the business in the Danish and Norwegian markets. Bengtsson joins from Aberdeen Asset Management, where he was head of asset management for the Nordics for the past three years.
Abu Dhabi Investment Authority – The sovereign wealth fund has opened an office in Hong Kong, its first on-the-ground presence there. Dong-Sinh Ngo has been named chief representative for Asia Pacific. ADIA said its Hong Kong arm would act as a platform to broaden and deepen relationships and identify new opportunities in China and other key Asian markets.
Newcore Capital Management – Juliette Chatellier has been named finance manager. Chatellier previously worked at Pastor Real Estate, as well as at Dixon Wilson.
Genesta – Thomas Käll is joining as senior project leader for transactions in the Swedish and Norwegian markets. He takes up the position next month, joining from Leimdörfer, where he was director and project manager. Prior to that, he worked at Ernst & Young.
Avignon Capital – The firm has opened its first office in Continental Europe. The firm said its opening of a Berlin office was part of a wider European expansion strategy. Staff will be recruited for the office, it said.
Savills – Simon McEvoy has been named divisional director in Northern Ireland. McEvoy spent the past 10 years working for JLL in Dublin.
