Schroders, Mitsui Fudosan, The Crown Estate, Vesteda, Helical Bar
Schroders – Makoto Fukui has joined as a senior member of the real estate business, taking the role of director of strategic partnerships. Fukui joins from Japanese property company Mitsui Fudosan, where he spent nine years building its London development business. He will be based in London and report to head of real estate capital, Chris Ludlam. He will also help develop Japanese and Asian relationships and implement large specialist projects in London, Paris and Berlin.
The Crown Estate – James Darkins has been appointed non-executive director. Darkins last year retired as chief executive at TH Real Estate after 17 years with the business. He has previously worked for Australian financial services firm AMP as head of property for New Zealand. In 2001, he was appointed global head of property for Henderson.
Vesteda – Hélène Pragt is to step down “by mutual agreement” as chief finance officer after 15 months in the job. Vesteda attributed her early departure to “differing views” on managing the company. It acknowledged Pragt’s contribution to the firm, such as an improved financing structure and investor relations, as well as organisational and IT development.
Helical Bar – Susan Clayton is to be appointed as a non-executive director in February. Clayton, an executive director at CBRE, currently chairs CBRE UK’s Women’s Network. She is also a board member of Hermes Property Unit Trust and a trustee and chair of the development committee of the Reading Real Estate Foundation.
