Barings – John Ockerbloom has joined the Barings alternative investments team as head of US real estate equity. Ockerbloom joins Barings from Jefferies where he served as managing director, global head of real estate, gaming and lodging investment banking. Prior to Jefferies, he was managing director, head of real estate investment banking at Morgan Keegan & Company, and managing director, real estate investment banking at Wachovia Securities and Banc of America Securities.
CBRE – The global real estate advisor has appointed James Delliere as an executive director to lead office investment in its London Metropolitan/South East team. Delliere joins from Savills where he spent four and a half years as a director in the national investment team. Prior to this, he was a partner at Strutt and Parker.
BNP Paribas REIM – Jean-Maxime Jouis, head of fund management, is joining the management board of BNP Paribas REIM France. He will be supported by Paul Darribère. Jouis joined BNP Paribas REIM France in 2007. He is now director in charge of fund management for BNP Paribas REIM France. Darribère joined BNP Paribas REIM France in 2013, as fund manager then fund management team leader. As the deputy head of fund management, he will notably oversee the thematic funds of the asset manager.
Blackstone – Gabriel Sod Hoffs has joined Blackstone Alternative Asset Management as a managing director and head of emerging markets and global macro strategy. Sod Hoffs joins from Caxton Associates where he was a portfolio manager focusing on emerging markets. Prior to Caxton, he was a senior investment associate at Bridgewater Associates where he focused on emerging markets, and CIO of Austin Credit Macro.
Lendlease – Asher Garnett has joined the property group’s European investment and capital markets team as director of equity raising. Garnett joins from UBS Asset Management where he was the UK business development director for real estate and private markets. Prior to this, he was the UK real estate product strategist at BlackRock. Claire Pettett has been appointed executive general manager for the firm’s construction business in London. Pettett, who has over 11 years of experience within the company, will take on the role from the end of July. She is replacing Alan Bates who has taken on a new role within Lendlease’s Italian business, where he is programme director.
IPSX Group – The property securities exchange has named David Delaney group CEO. Delaney, who has served as a non-executive director on the IPSX Group board since February 2019, joins full time from fintech communications company VoxSmart, where he has been chief commercial officer for two years. Prior to that, he was head of strategic clients and solutions, EMEA at Thomson Reuters for just over three years. Anthony Gahan, the founder and executive chairman of IPSX will step away from day to day involvement in the business in order to focus with the board on the long-term strategic development of the group where he will remain a director. IPSX said the search for a new non-executive chairman has commenced and it is anticipated this will be completed by early Autumn. Gahan will remain in post as chairman until that time. Roger Clarke will take up the role of managing director and head of capital markets. Clarke, has been a senior advisor to IPSX Group since January 2019. He joins from M7 Real Estate, where he was head of corporate finance. Previously he was CEO of Tunstall, M7’s subsidiary focussed on alternative lending.
PMM Group – The alternative asset manager specialising in real estate and real estate debt has appointed Richard Collins to fill the newly created COO role. Collins will also be a director of PMM’s mortgage servicing business, Hampton Mortgage Servicing. He was formerly COO and an equity partner at Europa Capital. Prior to working at Europa for 12 years, he worked as an M&A banker at Deloitte and BZW.
Seaforth Land – The London-focused commercial real estate investor and asset manager has appointed Lesley Chen Davison CIO. She will join the company in September 2019. Lesley joins Seaforth Land from Delancey where she has worked since 2005 as director of banking and treasury, and served as a member of the company’s steering committee.
