Bouwinvest – Friso Berghuis has been appointed manager of global listed real estate from next month. Berghuis, who is moving from his previous role in investor relations, will succeed Boris van Warmerdam, who is leaving the company. Berghuis joined Bouwinvest in 2010 as a senior strategic investment advisor.

HastingsBrett Mitsch, the former managing director of Flagstaff Infrastructure, has been appointed lead portfolio manager of Utilities Trust of Australia. Mitsch’s appointment is part of Hastings’ consolidation of the group’s infrastructure investment activity in Australia and international markets. Hastings has also promoted Matt Lorback to work alongside Mitsch as a portfolio manager.

Union Investment Real EstateMatthew Scholl has been hired by the German fund manager in the US. Scholl will be responsible for strategic development of the manager’s real estate portfolio in the American markets. Based in New York, Scholl previously worked at the AFIAA Swiss Foundation for almost four years.

Patrizia ImmobilienEssi Sten has been recruited as head of the firm’s operations in Finland. Sten previously served as director of property development at Finnish logistics company, Certeum. Stewn has also worked for Sponda as director of real estate funds.

REAGClaus Proschka has been appointed as head of debt advisory. Based in Frankfurt, he will report to James Bauer, director of REAG. Before moving to REAG, Proschka was director of TARGET Investment Management. He has also headed Bank of Ireland’s office and the international business of the Allgemeine Hypothekenbank.

BMO Real Estate PartnersFlorent Hervé has been named European asset manager. He joins from the asset manager ATREAM where he was in charge of closing new acquisitions in France. Prior to that, he served as senior asset manager at LaSalle Investment Management.

Hibernia REITMark Pollard has been named director of development.  He will join Hibernia in early May as a member of the executive committee. Pollard joins from the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) where he spent six years. He has also held senior development roles at Treasury Holdings and Asda Property Holdings.

Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers EuropeGunther Deutsch has been named head of investment transactions in Europe. Deutsch is the co-founder of Pamera Asset Management, the German business that Cornerstone acquired in 2014. He will will focus on UK, Germany, Nordics, Benelux, France, Italy and Spain. Christoph Wittkop will continue to be responsible for Cornerstone’s German operations. 

Avison Young – Nick Rock has joined the firm as a principal in the firm’s London West End office. Previously at BNP Paribas Real Estate, he will continue to focus on the West End submarket.

The Crown Estate – Stuart Hampson is to step down as chairman after six years in the role. Hampson’s replacement will be announced later this year.
