Allianz Real Estate – Donato Saponara has been appointed head of Italy, as the real estate arm of the German insurer reorganises its management team in Europe. Saponara will now look after the €3bn Italian portfolio, which forms part of Allianz Real Estate’s Western Europe region. He joined Allianz Real Estate in 2014 as head of asset management, before being appointed head of transactions last year.
Aquila Capital – The real assets specialist has opened an office in Amsterdam, which will be led by Oldrik Verloop, head of client advisory international, and Emke Bus, who has been appointed head of the Netherlands. Bus was previously managing director of ESG and infrastructure at GRESB, the real estate and infrastructure sustainability performance benchmarking initiative.
KanAm Grund – The Frankfurt-based real estate fund manager has hired Anthony George Bull-Diamond as a director with responsibility for real estate transactions in the UK, central and eastern Europe, and the development of new European markets.
Acofi Gestion – The French fund manager is preparing to increase its direct real estate lending activities with the appointment of Leïla Benamer as porfolio manager. She has experience of real estate loans management from her time at EuroHypo and PBB.
WP Carey – The net-lease real estate investment trust (REIT) has promoted Arvi Luoma to head of European investments. He joined WP Carey in 2006 and has been involved in roughly €3bn of transactions since then.
Real Asset Partners – Rimsky Vidal has joined the London-based capital advisory company as a partner. He had been a principal with the firm since 2013.
