IPE - PensionDanmark was the big winner at this year's IP Real Estate Awards in Amsterdam, taking home no fewer than five prizes - including Best European Real Estate Investor.

The Danish pension fund also scooped the awards for the Nordic Countries, Best Innovation, Best Sustainable Investment and Best Large Real Estate Investor.

The other top award went to the partnership between asset manager APG and pension provider PGGM (both based in the Netherlands), the UK's Universities Superannuation Scheme and Maastricht University, which set out to establish a global environmental benchmark for the property sector.

The partnership won the accolade for Outstanding Industry Contribution for the second year in a row.

Other big winners on the night included the UK's Clwyd Pension Fund, which landed the awards for the UK and Ireland, Best Opportunistic Investment and Best Small Real Estate Investor.

Germany's Gothaer won plaudits for the Best Use of Debt, in addition to being deemed the best investor in the Austria, Germany and Switzerland region.

Denmark's ATP - last year's big winner - won the award for Best Portfolio Construction, and Danish pension supplier PFA and the UK's Crown Estate were joint winners of Best Core Investment.

Ireland's GE Woodchester DB Pension Fund won Best Newcomer in Real Estate, while Towers Watson walked away with the Consultancy of the Year prize.
