Listed energy firm Zenith Energy has expanded its Italian solar pipeline by acquiring a 4.5MWp project in Rome, as it nears its 200MWp Italian development target for 2026.

Zenith Energy said it has acquired Rome PV Project 2, a ground-mounted photovoltaic development project located within the Metropolitan City of Rome in the Lazio region of Italy for a total land consideration of €315,000, reflecting a purchase price of €70,000 per hectare.

The Rome project increases the company’s total solar development pipeline to 193 MWp, representing 96.5% of its 200 MWp target for 2026, Zenith Energy added.

The latest project follows the commencement of construction at the firm’s first Italian solar plants in Puglia.

Andrea Cattaneo, Zenith Energy CEO, said:  “A second acquisition in Rome increases our development pipeline to 193MWp and demonstrates the strong momentum of our acquisition strategy, with progress already ahead of the target we set for the end of 2026.”

Cattaneo said construction is now underway across all three Puglia projects, with commissioning and grid connection targeted before the end of the year. He said the company expects the next independent valuation to increase materially from the €54.7m reported as at 31 March 2026, “reflecting both the expansion of the development portfolio and the value created through the commencement of construction”.

Cattaneo added that Zenith is in advanced discussions regarding the potential sale of a development project to a “leading national renewable energy operator”.
