European outdoor media infrastructure company Wildstone has acquired Berlin Videowall, a 104sqm digital billboard in Germany’s capital from outdoor advertising specialist Limes.
Wildstone has invested an unspecified amount to acquire the out-of-home (OOH) advertising site integrated into the former Swissôtel on the corner of Berlin’s Kurfürstendamm, and has retained Limes to operate the asset.
Berlin Videowall, the largest digital advertising installation in the centre of Berlin, has anamorphic 3D capabilities and runs 24/7, reaching more than 181,000 viewers daily.
The acquisition expands Wildstone’s reach in Europe and follows the firm’s entry into the German market last year when it bought the OOH advertising group AdverTower.
Established in 2010, Wildstone has a portfolio of over 5,000 OOH media assets including digital 48-sheet screens, traditional paper and paste billboards, and super-premium digital sites across the UK, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany.
Stefan Bergler, regional director DACH at Wildstone, said: “Acquiring the Berlin Videowall, the crown jewel of Berlin’s outdoor advertising scene, represents a pivotal milestone for Wildstone. We are proud to add this iconic OOH location to our portfolio.
“This deal is about much more than just capital: we enable Limes to focus on their core competency of media sales, creating a mutually beneficial partnership.”
The sale allows Limes to streamline its operations and concentrate its efforts on its core competency in media sales.
Tobias Assies, managing director of Limes, said: “This is a new chapter for Limes Berlin Videowall, as now both partners can fully utilise their strengths.
“We look forward to continuing to work closely with Wildstone on this and other projects and to maximising the creative and commercial impact of Berlin’s most beautiful digital advertising installation.”
