Vinci Highways has been awarded a 30-year toll road concession in Brazil by the National Road Transport Agency (ANTT).
Vinci said it will take over operations of the Belo Horizonte-Cristalina highway in the first quarter of 2025, after a transition phase in collaboration with ANTT.
The Belo Horizonte-Cristalina highway, serving both port traffic and the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area, handled 17.5m transactions in 2023, an 8.3% increase from the previous year. Heavy vehicles accounted for a significant 40% of this traffic.
Vinci said it would invest in expanding the Belo Horizonte-Cristalina highway, including widening over 300km, building 60km of service roads and implementing wildlife protection and reforestation initiatives.
Vinci’s Brazilian operations include eight airports, 1,200km of highways and various solar and energy projects.
