Finnish developer SRV has sold a €58m wooden office building project in Helsinki to Union Investment.
SRV said it has agreed to sell and construct the office building at Wood City quarter in Jätkäsaari.
The eight-story office building will have a total floor area of around 8,700sqm.
The property, which represents the last section of the Wood City quarter, has been leased to Finnish cybersecurity company WithSecure. The quarter also houses Supercell’s headquarters and two residential apartment buildings.
Saku Kosonen, SRV’s unit director in charge of business premises in the Helsinki metropolitan area, said: This project requires specialist expertise in wood construction, which we’ve gained plenty of over the years, including building the Wood City quarter.
“The new wooden office building wonderfully embodies our lifecycle-wise strategy, which revolves around sustainable and responsible construction.”
Kubilay Oezbisikletci, Union Investment’s senior investment manager in the Nordics, said in Union Investment has invested more than €500m over the past five years in the Nordics and intends to expand its “exposure significantly” in the coming years.
“We look forward to future cooperation with such a renowned partner as SRV.”
