TPG Angelo Gordon and developer Hollybrook have joined forces to invest in UK student accommodation, with initial developments valued at £200m (€240m).
The partnership’s initial projects include a 271-bed student housing development in Wimbledon, already under construction by Hollybrook and due for completion before the 2026/2027 academic year, and a second 300-bed London scheme to be acquired soon.
The partners said the joint venture – which is designed to acquire, build and manage purpose-built student accommodation assets (PBSA) – has a pipeline that includes both operational assets and development sites.
The venture’s goal is to secure planning permission for over 1,000 student beds in 2025.
Valerie Cox, director of Hollybrook, said: “We are delighted to be working with such a well respected partner in TPG Angelo Gordon and look forward to acquiring a significant number of PBSA developments sites within the next couple of years.
“We see significant demand from students for PBSA and we are delighted that TPG Angelo Gordon share our vision and are investing alongside us in this sector.”
John Parsons, VP at TPG Angelo Gordon, said: “We are excited to close the first in a series of transactions with our new student accommodation partner, Hollybrook.
“This transaction exemplifies our strategy of targeting supply-constrained student locations in the UK providing beds for both domestic and international demand.”
