Teacher Retirement System of Texas has approved a $130m (€118.9m) commitment to a US mortgage real estate investment trust managed by Mack Real Estate Credit Strategies via Claros REIT Management.
The pension fund said it is backing the CMTG TT Participating Investor trust, which provides financing through income-producing loans collateralised by commercial real estate.
Texas Teachers has also approved $53.68m co-investment with Square Mile for a logistics project in the Bronx, New York as part of its opportunistic real estate strategy and a $50m commitment to Abacus Multi-Family Partners V, value-add US apartment fund.
The pension fund has also made a $100m commitment to the Nova Infrastructure Co-Investment Partners III fund.
The co-investment fund will invest alongside the North Haven Infrastructure Partners III, Morgan Stanley’s global infrastructure fund which raised $5.5bn at its final close in December.
