Teacher Retirement System of Texas has approved a $250m (€212.3m) commitment to BlackRock’s BIS Brazos Infrastructure Fund.
The pension fund told IPE Reals Assets that most of the capital in the fund will be targeting value-add investment opportunities in the US.
SEC filing published this month showed that Bis Brazos Infrastructure Fund, which is raising an undisclosed amount of capital, has raised $250m from an unknow backer.
BlackRock did not respond to a request for comment.
The latest commitment extends the pension fund’s relationship with BlackRock. Texas Teachers committed $150m to BlackRock’s third global energy and power infrastructure fund in 2018.
