Texas Permanent School Fund has disclosed a $60m (€50.2m) commitment to the Warburg Pincus Asia Real Estate Fund Fund.

According to sources, Warburg Pincus is planning to raise $1.5bn for the pan-Asia fund which targets a variety of strategies including core and opportunistic investments.

Warburg Pincus – known for investing in Asian countries like China, Vietnam and India – has in the past invested in a variety of property types for its real estate strategy in Asia, according to the manager’s website.

Previous investments include residential, hospitality, industrial, data centres, parking and self-storage.

Warburg Pincus declined a request for comment.
