Employees Retirement System (ERS) of Texas has approved a $75m (€63.2m) commitment to an emerging markets energy infrastructure fund managed by Actis.
The pension fund said it has committed the capital to the Actis Energy 5, a fund which targets low-carbon energy infrastructure assets in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
ERS of Texas declined a request for further comment.
According to sources, the fund is seeking a $4bn capital raise and has so far raised $2.9bn.
The manager raised $2.75bn in March 2017 for the predecessor Actis Energy 4 fund.
