Swiss fund manager SUSI Partners has strengthened its position in the Danish renewables market with the acquisition of the Grønkær onshore wind farm.

SUSI, through its Renewable Energy Fund II, has bought four out of the five turbines with a total capacity of 14.4MW from Eurowind Energy. Eurowind and residents of the surrounding area will retain one turbine.

Financial details were undisclosed.

Marco van Daele, CIO at SUSI, said: “The acquisition of Grønkær represents SUSI’s second investment in a Danish wind farm.

“We remain confident of the attractiveness of the Danish renewables market based on its attractive resource and the deep expertise of its developers and are looking to build our presence there further.”

Jens Rasmussen, CEO of Eurowind Energy, said: “We expect this sale to be the first in a long line of business opportunities between SUSI Partners and Eurowind Energy – with respect to the sale of wind parks as well as asset management in and beyond Denmark.

“It is a pleasure to do business with a partner who, like us, knows that the green transition will only take place at the necessary pace if it is backed by professional institutional investors.”
