State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB) has added to its roster of real estate investment managers by approving more than $200m (€183m) of commitments to strategies managed by MetLife Investment Management and The BlackChamber Group.

The pension fund confirmed to IPE Real Assets that it is investing $109m to own a 50% stake in the MetWest International mixed-use development in Tampa, Florida.

Developed by MetLife, it houses several mixed-use venues and includes apartments, retail space, office buildings and a hotel operated by Marriott under the AC Hotels brand.

SWIB has also committed $100m to the BlackChamber Real Estate Opportunity Fund.

The pension fund declined to disclose the investment strategy or size of the fund.

An SEC filing stated that BlackChamber was seeking to raise $500m for the fund.
